⚡ Getting Started
What is Leader Standard OS?
Leader Standard OS is an iOS app built on Lean management principles. It gives operational leaders a complete system to execute their management routines — Standard Work cadence tracking, Gemba walk logging, escalation and project tracking, 1:1 coaching sessions, and a daily Discipline Score.
Who is Leader Standard OS for?
Any operational leader who wants to lead with discipline rather than relying on memory — Team Leaders, Managers, Senior Managers, Directors, VPs, and C-Suite executives across manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, and any organization that practices continuous improvement.
How do I get started?
Download the app from the App Store, create a free account (email or Apple Sign-In), and complete your first daily standup routine. The app seeds one example entry in each module so you can see how it works. Delete the examples and add your own when ready. Most leaders are up and running in under 5 minutes.
Is there a free version?
Yes. The free tier gives you full access to the Dashboard and Cadence module — including all 7 cadence tiers, streak tracking, and completion history. The Gemba, Tracker, and Coaching modules require a Pro subscription.
📋 Cadence Routines
📋
What are cadence tiers?
Cadence tiers represent how frequently a routine should be completed. Leader Standard OS supports 7 tiers: Daily, Weekly, Bi-Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, Bi-Annually, and Yearly. Each routine belongs to exactly one tier, and the app tracks completion per period.
📋
What counts as completing a routine?
Tap the circle next to a routine to mark it complete. The app records the completion with the current period key (e.g. the week number for weekly routines), so completing it twice in the same period doesn't inflate your stats. Tapping again un-completes it.
📋
Why did my routines reset?
Routines reset automatically at the start of each new period — daily routines reset at midnight, weekly routines reset at the start of each week, monthly at the start of each month, and so on. This is expected — the streak counts consecutive completed periods.
📋
How is the streak calculated?
A streak counts consecutive periods in which you completed at least one completion for that routine. If you miss a period, the streak resets to 0. Streaks of 7+ periods are highlighted in orange as a milestone.
🚶 Gemba Walks
🚶
What is a Gemba walk?
Gemba is a Japanese term meaning 'the actual place.' A Gemba walk means going to where the work happens and observing directly. In Leader Standard OS, each walk is logged with structured observations across six categories: Safety, Quality, Delivery, People, Process, and Morale.
🚶
How do I log a Gemba walk?
In the Gemba tab, tap the + button. Enter the location, date, rating (1–5), and add observations. Each observation has four fields: what you observed, what the standard should be, the gap between actual and standard, and whether it should be escalated.
🚶
Can I change the Gemba walk target frequency?
Yes. Tap the slider icon (⚙) in the Gemba tab header. You can set your target to any number of walks per Week, Month, or Year, and choose whether Gemba counts toward your Discipline Score.
🚶
What happens when I flag an observation for escalation?
Observations marked 'Escalate' are surfaced in the Tracker tab as a prompt to create an escalation record. The two are not automatically linked — you create the escalation manually, which gives you control over the priority and owner.
📊 Tracker — Escalations & Projects
📊
What is the difference between Escalations and Projects?
Escalations are reactive — they track specific problems that need resolution by a deadline. Projects are proactive — they track work you are leading with milestones and progress. Both live in the Tracker tab under separate sections.
📊
How do I create an escalation?
In the Tracker tab, select Escalations at the top, then tap +. Enter a problem statement, root cause, owner, priority (Critical/High/Medium/Low), and optional due date. You can log updates as the issue progresses toward resolution.
📊
How do I track project progress?
Create a project with a title, description, owner, status, and due date. Add milestones to break the work into checkpoints. As milestones are completed, the progress bar updates. Log updates to maintain a timestamped history of what's happened.
📊
What does the SLA tracking do?
If an escalation has a due date and that date passes without being resolved, the escalation is marked Overdue. Overdue escalations appear in the Hub's 'Needs Attention' section and reduce your Escalation Discipline Score.
🤝 Coaching
🤝
How do I set up coaching sessions?
In the Coaching tab, tap + to create a new session. Select a team member (add them in Team Roster first), set the date, and add development areas and commitments. After the session, complete it by logging notes and an energy rating.
🤝
What is the energy rating?
The energy rating (1–5) is a quick measure of the team member's engagement and motivation as observed during the 1:1. It gives you a longitudinal view of team morale over time.
🤝
How do I add team members?
Go to Profile → Team Roster → tap + to add a team member with their name, role, department, and email. Team members appear in the Coaching module and are synced via iCloud if sync is enabled.
🤝
Are coaching notes private?
Yes. All notes are stored locally on your device and in your private iCloud database (if sync is enabled). They are never shared with anyone, including OAAI APPS.
⚡ Discipline Score
How is the Discipline Score calculated?
The overall score averages four components equally: Cadence (weighted by tier), Gemba (walks vs target), Escalations (on-time resolution rate), and Coaching (completion rate). Each component scores 0–100%. The final score maps to an A–F grade.
What do the grades mean?
A = 90–100% (Excellent), B = 80–89% (Good), C = 70–79% (Fair), D = 60–69% (Needs Improvement), F = below 60% (Below Standard).
Can I exclude Gemba from the score?
Yes. Go to the Gemba tab → tap the settings icon → toggle 'Include in Discipline Score' off. The Gemba bar in the score card will be hidden and the overall grade will be calculated from the remaining three components.
Why does my free tier score only show Cadence?
The Gemba, Escalations, and Coaching modules are Pro-only. The Discipline Score on the free tier reflects Cadence performance only. Upgrade to Pro to unlock the full four-component score.
☁️ iCloud Sync
☁️
How does iCloud Sync work?
When enabled, Leader Standard OS syncs your data to your private iCloud database via Apple CloudKit. Only you can access this data. It syncs routines, walks, escalations, projects, coaching sessions, team members, and settings.
☁️
I reinstalled the app and lost my data. How do I restore it?
Go to Profile → iCloud Sync. If iCloud is available, you will see a 'Restore from iCloud' button. Tap it before enabling sync to recover your data. Enabling sync first on an empty device may overwrite your backup.
☁️
Why isn't iCloud sync working?
Make sure you are signed into iCloud on your device (Settings → [Your Name]). Check that the Leader Standard OS iCloud switch is enabled in Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud. Then return to the app and toggle sync off and on again.
☁️
Does iCloud sync work across iPhone and iPad?
Yes. As long as both devices are signed into the same Apple ID and iCloud is enabled, your data will sync automatically. Changes on one device appear on the other after the next sync.
📤 Export & Reports
📤
How do I export my data?
Go to Profile → Import & Export. Choose Excel or PDF format, select a date range, choose which sections to include, and tap Export. The file is generated on your device and shared via the iOS share sheet.
📤
What is the difference between PDF and Excel export?
PDF export generates a formatted report with a cover page, discipline summary, and per-module sections — good for sharing with leadership. Excel export produces a multi-sheet workbook with raw data — good for analysis.
📤
Can I filter the export by date range?
Yes. The export screen has a date range picker with presets: Last 7 Days, Last 30 Days, Last 90 Days, Last 12 Months, All Time, and Custom. Time-series data (walks, escalations, sessions) is filtered by range. Configuration data (routines, team members) is always included in full.
📤
Is export available on the free tier?
Export (PDF and Excel) is a Pro feature. Free users can access the Cadence reports view within the app, but full export requires a Pro subscription.

🔑 Account
🔑
How do I change my password?
Go to Profile → Edit section → Change Password. Enter your current password and your new password. This is only available for email/password accounts — Apple Sign-In users manage their credentials through Apple.
🔑
How do I delete my account?
Go to Profile → scroll to the bottom → Delete Account. This permanently deletes your Firebase authentication record. Your local data and iCloud data are not automatically deleted — use 'Clear Local Data' and 'Delete All Cloud Data' to remove those separately.
🔑
Can two people share one account?
Leader Standard OS is designed for individual use. Each user should create their own account. Data is scoped to a single Firebase UID, so two users on the same device will have completely separate data.
🔑
I forgot my password. How do I reset it?
On the login screen, tap 'Forgot Password?' and enter your email. A reset link will be sent to your inbox.
